Neighborhood
The house is just a few blocks to the best beaches in North Lake Tahoe, downtown Kings Beach and miles of hiking trails out the back door. Crystal Bay Casino is 1.1 miles away for gaming and shows and I can tell you from experience it's very walkable...or runnable, depending on your drinking style. There are bus stops up and down the main street, highway 28, just two blocks away. In the winter and summer seasons, take advantage of the free Night Rider shuttle that will take you to the casino, Northstar, Tahoe City, Squaw Valley or down the West Shore. We live on a dead end street that is often the last street to get plowed. Being in Kings Beach, we get less snow than other areas around the lake, but we still recommend you have all-wheel drive and good tires if it has snowed in the 3 days prior to your trip. This rental has one guaranteed parking spot, with two spots most times of year (it all depends on how the berms get built and how much snow we get!). Lastly, please note that downtown Kings Beach where our street is located is very densely populated. The street itself is extra dense before you get to our little cul-de-sac at the "top". There is a trailer park that is only a block away which you drive past to get here and the surrounding blocks of Kings Beach are where a lot of working locals live. It is a very safe neighborhood and we personally never even lock our doors (except we still lock the cars because of bears!). Across from our house is open Conservancy Land and our little corner of the street feels quite quiet, but otherwise Kings Beach is the busiest little town in all of North Lake Tahoe.
Guest Access
The entire house, as well as fenced backyard are all yours. We no longer live in this house and it is a full time vacation rental set up for your comfort. The #BrookAframe is all yours when you're in residence, so run around like the wild person you are. There are no laundry facilities for your use, unfortunately, but there is a laundromat just two blocks away. We check the house thoroughly between each guest and we pride ourselves on fixing things as soon as they are broken, but because we don't live in the house full time anymore we rely on our fine guests to let us know if something is amiss. Thank you, in advance, for your help!

AS FEATURED ON "15 Best Airbnbs in Lake Tahoe" on Dec 8, 2022 on roadaffair dot com!! If we don't have availability at this AFrame, please check out our profile for our other home called "Updated 1940's Cabin" which is just a mile away and features a hot tub, fenced yard and the same great service you can expect at this cabin. ***PLEASE READ - COVID-19 UPDATE: We are thrilled to be hosting guests again here in Lake Tahoe. To keep our homes as safe and healthy as possible we have had to change a few things until further notice. Our cleaning staff is being extra diligent and taking extra time with sanitizing every touchable surface, so we have changed our check-in time to 5pm and our check-out time to 10am. We will do our absolute best to still get you into the house early as is already our policy, but ask that you be extra patient with us. ****Please note fires of any kind (including bbq grills) are no longer allowed in Short Term Rentals in Placer County, so our fire pit has logs and twinkle lights, but no fires permitted. Thank you for understanding!*** This cozy little 3-story A-frame welcomes you on the middle level with living, kitchen, one of the bathrooms, access to the small back deck and gear storage. Take the stairs down to the primary bedroom or up to the lofted 2nd bedroom. The downstairs primary bedroom features a King memory foam mattress and ensuite bathroom with rain shower head. There is no door to this bedroom, but there is a thick curtain and the two bedrooms are 2 floors away from each other. The bedroom downstairs is at basement level and looks out over the backyard from under the deck. To get to the lofted 2nd bedroom, take the ship-style stairs from the middle floor. These stairs are angled like those on a ship, please see photos to determine if they work for you. They definitely won't work for your dog (also, its the only carpet in the house up there, so no dogs allowed please), so please note that your pup will have to sleep downstairs in either the living room or the primary bedroom. We recommend going down backwards for the most support. Skylights above the Queen bed in the 2nd bedroom let you watch the snow fall or gaze at the stars. These skylights don't have window covers on them, so if you're light-sensitive, it might be good to bring an eye mask (although we offer eye masks and ear plugs for your use and to take home, too!). Please keep in mind that the bedrooms are two floors away from each other, but due to the nature of a-frames, they do not have doors. In the downstairs primary Bedroom and also in the living room, we have TVs with Rokus that have ACCESS to all your apps like Netflix and Hulu (this means you must use your own account and also log out when you leave, we don't have cable sorry!) Our house is great for dogs! We cannot accept cats or other small pets due to allergies, unfortunately. We welcome your pups here, but since this is first and foremost a house for humans, we ask that you help them with some basic manners. Most importantly, we do NOT permit dogs on the furniture in any way at all. Not with your blankets from home, not even if they are one of those hypoallergenic awesome allergy-free dogs :) We offer a big dog bed that is almost as big as the couch, so they shouldn't be wanting for comfort while here, we promise! We ask that you crate your pup when you are not home with them and we provide a large crate for your use (see the pics for size). Please DO NOT leave your pups alone in the backyard, even when you're home. Dogs tend to bark in unfamiliar places and we have great neighbors who don't deserve to have a dog barking at them. Lastly, your pups aren't allowed in the 2nd upstairs bedroom. The stairs are super scary for them, trust us. They're going to be happiest in the living room or in the downstairs primary bedroom (but never on the bed, please). The little pot-belly gas stove is on a thermostat and will keep you toasty warm for your stay. It is the only heat source, however, so it can not be turned off in the winter to keep little curious hands safe. Our little cabin is unfortunately not suited for kids too young to understand to stay away from hot stoves, steep stairs and open kitchen shelves with lots of breakables. The pot-belly stove heats the middle living level and the upstairs secondary bedroom wonderfully. For heat downstairs, we have an infrared space heater with a thermostat to keep it toasty at your preferred temp. Like almost everywhere in Tahoe, we do not have AC. It's just not common up here since it is only needed for a few short weeks of the year. We have fans in the bedrooms and a ceiling fan in the living room. In previous years, with temperatures rising, there have been some weeks in July and August when the heat is quite uncomfortable during the day, but it cools off tremendously into the 50's at night. The trick in any Tahoe house is to open all windows at night to let the house breath and to bring in that cool air, then to close all the windows and shades in the morning to "trap" the cool air for as long as you can. And also go jump in the cool cool lake!! :). We provide HEPA air filters on each level to deal with the unfortunate "smoke season" that we sadly get here in California. In the Summer months, the backyard features a back deck with dining for up to four under market lights in the cool Tahoe breeze. Down in the yard there is a hand-dug firepit with twinkle lights but unfortunately fires are completely prohibited in the Tahoe Basin now, we apologize. The yard is fully fenced for your furry friends, but some escape artists have been known to dig below the gate, so we don't recommend it for those Houdini dogs out there. Please also note that the we do not have a bbq grill as they are no longer allowed in short term rentals in our county. Please note that you are staying in a home, not a hotel, and our housekeeper charges a set rate because our guests leave the house similar to how they found it so she can come in and sanitize, clean and make it perfect for you each and every time. We have a short list of tidying tasks that we ask you to complete before checkout. Nothing crazy, but we like to be up front about it. We just ask that you clean and put away the dishes you use, take out the kitchen trash that you made, place used towels in the bathtub, leave the beds unmade (but no need to strip them!) and return any furniture/games to where you found them. We don't have a dishwasher, so we want to be up front with the request to wash, dry and put away your dishes before leaving, especially! ***Early Check-In Note: Our cleaners manage their own schedules, but because we love them and they are wonderful, they typically schedule our home for earlier in their day. As soon as they are done cleaning, they let us know and then we go to the house to add the final touches. The exact MINUTE we leave the house, we message you in the Airbnb Messages. We ALWAYS send a message the minute the house is ready, that even includes if its ready closer to the 5pm check in time. Almost all of our reservations are ready a few hours early, but we absolutely cannot guarantee it since the cleaners manage themselves. In our welcome info, we will send you some awesome recommendations of things to do and places to eat in town while you wait for the message, if you choose to come to town early. Thank you for your patience! PLEASE NOTE: weather can be difficult for travel in our mountain community. We cannot offer refunds or cancellations for weather, however we highly highly recommend you acquire “cancel for any reason” trip insurance for your holiday. This will allow you to book with confidence and cancel if a storm or sickness or family emergency should make travel not possible. EV Charging: We do not have a dedicated EV Charger, but we have an outdoor 110v outlet located directly next to the front door that is available for your use....

Sorry we're unable to show you the location for this property
You can get to a lot of fun places within walking distance to the house (beaches, restaurants, market), BUT it is still recommended to have a car to get around and to get here. Our public transportation is not all that good.
